Roy Nash is the President & CEO of NeighborWorks Waco, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting low- and moderate-income families in purchasing their first home in Waco and McLennan County as well as the multi-county region composing the Heart of Texas Council of Governments' service area. Under Nash's leadership since 2002, NeighborWorks Waco has helped hundreds of families become homeowners, provided thousands of hours in homebuyer and credit counseling to families, and designed and built dozens of affordable homes in the Waco area. NeighborWorks Waco is a member of the NeighborWorks Network, a national network of nonprofit organizations that are successfully revitalizing neighborhoods, stabilizing homeownership and preserving affordable housing.

In addition to his position as President & CEO, Nash is the chairman of the Visibility and Resource Development Committee for NeighborWorks America, as well as the vice chair of the National Campaign for HomeOwnership Steering Committee. He also serves as an advisory board member for the National NeighborWorks Association, the political arm of the network. He received the prestigious Emerging Leader Award from the National NeighborWorks Network at their Annual Meeting in 2005.

Prior to joining NeighborWorks Waco, Nash served as the Executive Vice President of the Temple Area Builders Association, a position he held for 10 years. Nash is a former real estate broker and builder and a past vice president of a family-owned building materials business. Nash began his career managing the Chambers of Commerce in two Texas cities.

Nash is the chairman of the Waco Housing Coalition and is also serving on the boards of the Heart of Texas Builders Association, the Texas Association of Builders and Heart of Texas Workforce Solutions. He was recently appointed as an advisory board member for Texas State Technical College’s Construction Trades Department.

He received the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation from the American Society of Association Executives in 1996. With more than 30 years of experience in the housing and building industries, Nash has spoken at housing and nonprofit management conferences both regionally and nationally.

Nash graduated from Baylor University where he received a B.B.A. degree in Business Management and lettered in basketball. He is an advisory board member for a local hospital. He also serves as a deacon at his church.

   

Delisa Burnell-Smith – Vice President & Chief Operating Officer

Delisa Burnell-Smith serves as Vice President & COO of NeighborWorks Waco, a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting low- and moderate-income families in purchasing their first home in Waco and McLennan County. NeighborWorks Waco, which provides opportunities for families to fulfill the "American Dream" of homeownership, is a member of NeighborWorks America, a national network of non-profit organizations that are successfully revitalizing neighborhoods, stabilizing homeownership and preserving affordable housing.

Burnell-Smith is certified by NeighborWorks Full-Cycle Lending in three categories: homebuyer education, mortgage lending and loan portfolio management. This certification enables NeighborWorks Waco to partner with lenders, insurers, builders, non-profit organizations and government agencies to provide homeownership opportunities for families who might not otherwise qualify for, or know how to obtain, conventional mortgages. Since joining the organization in 1994, Burnell-Smith has counseled thousands of families; in 2005, the organization made homeownership a reality for their 1,000th homebuyer. In addition to her position as Vice President & COO, Burnell-Smith serves on the non-profit organization boards of the East Waco Development Corporation and the Waco Family Abuse Center. Delisa Burnell-Smith, a native Wacoan, earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Paul Quinn College in Dallas, Texas.

   

Calvin Hodde – Construction Manager

As Construction Manager of NeighborWorks Waco, Calvin oversees all aspects of the construction process at each new home that the organization builds. His duties include inspecting potential home sites for new lot acquisitions, obtaining building permits, overseeing NeighborWorks Waco's independent contractors, and consulting with homebuyers on the design and details of their new home. Calvin joined the organization in December 1997; in addition to his day job with NeighborWorks Waco, Calvin also serves as Mayor of Lacy Lakeview, Texas.

   

Karen Saucedo – Construction & Financial Coordinator

As Construction and Financial Coordinator at NeighborWorks Waco, Karen is responsible for the design of NeighborWorks Waco custom and speculative homes, as well as managing NeighborWorks Waco's inventory of available lots in McLennan County. She works directly with individuals and families to ensure that their new home will meet their needs while remaining affordable. Karen also oversees the organization’s construction supply orders, and works with the organization’s accountant to help keep the budget on track. Karen joined NeighborWorks Waco in July 2001.

   

Chad Klawetter – HomeOwnership Center Manager

Chad joined NeighborWorks Waco in July 2007 and oversees both the Homebuyer Education and Foreclosure Prevention programs, as well as the overall communication and marketing efforts of the organization. A Dallas native, he holds a B.A. in Telecommunication from Baylor University and an M.A. in Urban Studies from Denver Seminary. Prior to working for NeighborWorks Waco, Chad worked with low- to moderate-income families in education-focused and preventative youth programs, financial literacy and homebuyer education, GED classes, computer literacy, and job training workshops and seminars for two different nonprofit housing organizations. He currently serves on NeighborWorks America's HomeOwnership Center Advisory Committee and the Community Building and Organizing Program Steering Committee.

   

Daniel Garcia – HomeOwnership Specialist

Daniel has served as a HomeOwnership Specialist with NeighborWorks Waco since September 2007. Along with conducting pre-purchase and foreclosure counseling sessions, Daniel also orginates first lien mortgage loans, down payment & closing cost assistance loans and facilitates our Homebuyer Education Class.  Daniel attended Texas State Technical College and received training in Telecommunications and Web Design & Development. Daniel began his career in Real Estate Finance in 2005.  He has gained experience in all aspects of the industry, from mortgage processing and loan originations to collections and loss mitigation. He is certified in Foreclosure Intervention & Default Counseling and Homebuyer Education by NeighborWorks America. Daniel is also a member of the Heart of Texas Interpreters for the Deaf where he serves on the executive board as Secretary and as the organization's Webmaster.  

   

Ruben Andrade Jr. – HomeOwnership Specialist

Ruben Andrade Jr. joined NeighborWorks Waco in March 2008, and is dedicated to providing superior pre-purchase counseling and education for future homeowners; he also works extensively with existing homeowners facing foreclosure and has received his certification in Foreclosure Intervention and Default Counseling through NeighborWorks America. Ruben brings over 15 years of progressive nonprofit experience to the organization, and is the co-founder of the Central Texas Fatherhood Initiative. He also pastors a local church congregation in North Waco.

   

Linda Hill – Office Manager

Linda officially joined NeighborWorks Waco in October of 2009. As the Office Manager, she assists our customers with questions regarding our programs and the servicing of their mortgage loans. Linda also assists with the organization’s accounts receivables/payables and ensures that the daily operation of our office is functioning efficiently. A native Wacoan, Linda brings over 20 years experience in accounting and customer service to our organization. She received her Associates degree in Accounting from McLennan Community College.
