Board Chair’s Message
By Delfina Velasquez, NeighborWorks Waco’s Board Chair
As we have received notice from our State’s Governor to reopen business at 100%, we remain cautious, focused on safely opening our office doors to in-person meetings. Many of us miss the interactive gatherings of before. Though many people have chosen to be vaccinated, we also are aware that many people elect not to receive the vaccination. As far as NeighborWorks Waco is concerned, we are proud that our completed units in the Belmont Village have been fully leased, with more to come. During this past year, we experienced increasing cost of building materials, as well as increasing difficulty to obtain numerous materials. Additionally, we are proud that our newly built home in McGregor is under contract! As we begin our 3rd quarter of 2021, we feel optimistic about our local and national economy.
