For 26 years NeighborWorks Waco has strived for excellence. We have been fortunate to help countless individuals and families in that time. We have learned a lot in our time, but one of the most salient things we know is: while we have been fortunate to assist others, we have been doubly fortunate with those have chosen to help us with our mission.

At our annual Breakfast Banquet we recognize individuals who go above and beyond in their dedicated service to the Waco community and to us at NeighborWorks Waco. This year’s award recipients are examples of excellence in service and it is our privilege not only to honor them but also to work alongside them.

This year the winners were Pat Nowotny, Chris Gutierrez, and Eric Hobbs, and we would like to once again extend to these outstanding men our gratitude for all that they do throughout our community.

The award for Outstanding Service as a Board Member went to Pat Nowotny for his absolute dedication to the vision and mission of NeighborWorks Waco. Pat serves on our fundraising committee, marketing committee, and executive board.

Chris Gutierrez was named the Volunteer of the Year for fiscal year 2019. His devotion to our organization is palpable, and he is largely responsible for the new development which is currently under construction–Belmont Village. Chris is a wonderful liaison between our organization and the City of Waco, and has played a critical role in numerous NeighborWorks Waco projects.

Eric Hobbs, who was unable to attend the NeighborWorks Waco annual Breakfast Banquet due to a prior commitment, received our Wilbert Austin Good Neighbor Award for the work he does within his neighborhood association and our community. This award is one of our favorites, and has been named in honor of the late Rev. Wilbert Austin, a long time friend of NeighborWorks Waco and a champion of the community. It is awarded in his honor to recognize community member of a like mind to Rev. Austin and annual goes to one of the communities most outstanding members.

NeighborWorks Waco is proud to present these three incredible advocates with a small token of recognition for the love and labor they regularly give to Waco. Thank you all.
